Ian Lloyd's Stories The Moogy Klingman Band Nazz with Stewkey Moogy was a founding member of Todd Rundgren's "Utopia." Moogy will be performing songs from his Capitol and EMI solo albums - songs that went on to be recorded by people like Johny Winter, Eric Clapton, Barry Manilow, and others. Moogy's band also be playing other songs he wrote like "Dust in the Wind" which Todd Rundgren recorded on his "Something, Anything" album and Axel Rose and Guns & Roses does live in concert (on their very occasional gigs). He'll also be doing a song he co-wrote with Buzzy Linhart called, "You Gotta Have Friends," which is Bette Midler's theme song. Moogy has played, recorded and/or had his songs covered by many rock legends, including Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Luther Van Dross, Bob Dylan, Bo Diddley, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Allan Woody and Warren Haynes from the Allman Bros & Gov't Mule. Moogy has worked with great female rockers like Bette Midler, Carly Simon, Cindy Lauper, Shawn Colvin, Irene Cara, and Thelma Houston. Jim Satten on guitar is a blues/R&B guitar legend. He was Bo Diddley lead guitarist and band leader for 14 years and led the Ron Wood band (of the Rolling Stones) on a world tour. He and Moogy also played together in a band with Allman Brothers alumnus Allan Woody, and Warren Haynes. Jim has played guitar for the original Temptations, Ronnie Spector, and Sam and Dave, among many others. Even Steven Levee has been playing with Moogy for many years in bands like "Moogy and the Mojo's" and "Freak Parade." Even has worked with many rocks acts including Brad Factor and others and also produces acts at his studio such as Gun Hill. The drummer Denny McDermott has been gigging and recording with Donald Fagan, Phoebe Snow and Marc Cohen. Ian Lloyd has been rehearsing with Moogy with a new version of his old band "Stories." Ian Lloyd and Stories had three top twenty hit singles including a #1 hit with the classic song, "Brother Louie." Ian has recorded many albums with Stories and as a solo artist. Ian's voice has been heard on such big hits as Foreigner's "Feels Like The First Time," "Cold As Ice," "Waiting For A Girl Like You," "Juke Box Hero," "Double Vision," and more. He is cemented in Rock 'n' Roll history with his world-wide #1 hit "Brother Louie" and can also be heard on Billy Joel's "I Go To Extremes," as well as appearing on CDs by Yes, Peter Frampton, Ian McDonald [of King Crimson & Foreigner fame], and Survivor to name a few. Stewkey has put together a new version of the Nazz which is recording a new album. Stewkey was the original lead singer for the Nazz, who released three albums on Atlantic in the late 60's. The Nazz's album all charted on Billboard's top 100. Stewkey also sang lead on both of the Nazz's hit singles - "Open My Eyes" and "Hello, It's Me" which Todd Rundgren later recorded as a single to great success. Todd Rundgren was leader and guitar player for both the Nazz and Utopia (who were nominated to the R & R Hall of Fame in 2000). Later, Stewkey was in the bands "Fuse" and "Sick Man Of Europe," with Rick Nielsen and Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick. He is now writing, recording, and performing again with the new Nazz, who are working on a new album right now! |

EVERY SATURDAY :: 10PM - 4AM MISSHAPES IS ABOUT GREAT MUSIC AND WE BELIEVE GREAT MUSIC HAS NO GENRE BOUNDARIES I want you to take me out Along side DJ's and hosts Greg.K, Leigh Lezark, and Geo, each week special guest DJ's (Previous guests include Boy George, members of The Rapture, Fischerspooner, and Les Savy Fav, as well as writers from Rolling Stone, Index, Spin, and the Village Voice) are on deck playing music to get you in the mood. Playing an explosive mixture of indie, alternative, rock'n'roll, pop, bootlegs, electro, punk, post-punk, new wave, garage rock, and retro 80's classics, we try not to play stuff that's heavily represented on other nights; not because it's not good, but because those nights do such a good job of covering it already. So take the weight off your wallet and come get smashed with the MisShapes every Saturday. Though inspired by New York parties Motherfucker and Tiswas, and the glamour of their hosts Justine D and Michael T, who have truly perfected bringing together groups who like all different music - rock, punk, electro, indie etc in one place, MisShapes is the sister party to Miss-Shapes, which is held at The Ghetto in London. Greg K has visited the party on a few occasions and was really attracted to one of the parties original flyers featuring the faces of Jarvis Cocker, Damon Albarn, Courtney Love, and Shirley Manson. One thing the NY parties lacked was the "fun pop" thrown into the rock indie electro mix, and this UK party certainly knew when to turn out a hit from the pop sensation du jour. Like its very successful UK sister, which recently celebrated their 8th year anniversary, Misshapes is about the colored dancing lights and the kids who return each week in the hopes that even Whitney Houston could be played alongside Le Tigre. MisShapes is partially named after a Pulp song, but its more poignant meaning comes from our circle of friends and the crowd we see out at parties - we are all very different, but even across continents, somehow we fit in together, connected through our love of dancing and new music. |
