A fairly recent addition to the New York scene THE AMBER SMITH may have some of the influences as the ongoing garage revivalists but it is what they do with them that matters. With a more tuneful approach than most of their contemparies, as showcased on their debut EP 'From Upper Lip to Lower Hip,' THE AMBER SMITH recall prime time Big Star and Teenage Fanclub -- and that is a very good thing!

Drawing from classic British pop ranging from 70s glam, 80s new romantism as well as 90s style indie with a touch of the Stooges and Velvet Underground MESMER have developed an interesting sound which is hard to pigeon hole.
